Which one is the healthy choice for you and your family?

Millstone Mountain Farm’s Black Angus grass-fed beef is sustainably produced within the season’s and nature’s cycles. Our cows graze native and improved perennial pastures during the green season followed by stockpiled forages and hay through the winter. We do not use any grains or their byproducts, nor do we use high carbohydrate annual grazing crops as grain replacements.  Our cows grow at the rate nature intended on the diet nature intended.

What this means to you the consumer is that you will have the healthiest beef possible which is produced not only without damage to the environment but while improving it . Millstone Mountain Farm was developed with the ideal that healthy, sustainable food should be available at prices all families can afford. Production is very seasonal and our beef is harvested only once a year following the summer equinox.

A word about flavor and tenderness, you may have heard that grass-fed beef is tough or tastes ‘gamey’. Both can be true. Improper production, processing or cooking methods can produce tough or off flavored beef. On the production end, we do everything possible to consistently produce tender, well flavored beef though animal production is inexact by nature. We are continuously improving our beef through genetic selection and DNA testing as well as building upon our grazing and management skills. On the consumer end, proper preparation and cooking techniques are essential, high heat or overcooking well ruin even the very best grass-fed beef.
